Sony Rolly is a new dimension in MP3 players. It fuses sound and motion, dancing
to the music with multicoloured lights flashing in time.
The display reflects the form of the product and incorporates colour fazing LED’s to mimic those on Rolly. The dome is lockable so that the product can be demonstrated in stores. A combination of clean lines, smooth curves and gloss black and white material make the unit as sophisticated as Rolly itself. Polydome logos enhance the premium feel to the unit.
The initial brief indicated that there would be approximately 100 displays as
the product was deemed to be an attention grabber for Sony and sales were not
predicted to be high volume. However, such was the success; the number of units
produced was 500.
